Hi, my names Chris and I'm passionate about teaching music. Over 17 years I've created a unique skillset that delivers flexible, effective, fun and inspiring lessons.
I've taught ages 8 -80, face to face and through Zoom, run hundreds of workshops, including here and in schools

It can be daunting learning an instrument, and it's my job to provide a clear teaching path and objective goals (even if that's simply to de-stress) for our lessons. Examples include:

I also provide all my students with homework roundup videos. I'm CRB checked, and will travel to your house. I charge £30 hour, £15 half hour
A Little Bit About Me
​
I'd always had a love for music, but it wasn't until after uni that I was lucky to get a place at Access To Music. There I studied guitar and voice, plus general musicianship. This is where I discovered I have a passion for teaching.
Over my 17 years I've taught in many different situations: choirs, guitar workshops, schools and activity centres. But more than anything I've taught one to one, helping students master their instrument, find their authentic voice or work through a study book.

With the Pandemic, I had a reset and moved back up north from Bristol. I took a couple of years away, taking counselling skills level 2 and 3 to support and expand my teaching approach, before re-establishing my teaching business in North Lancashire.

Chris was always focused on the music and me enjoying what we play. We do songs I like, and Chris helps me work out how to play them. When I start to get it, Chris plays another part of the song so we harmonise together. It sounds great! Over time in learning the songs I realised I have been learning technique and theory, but all in passing as I concentrate on the songs. Now I'm a guitarist and I love it.

I enjoyed the year Chris spent teaching our workshop. We were a mixed ability group, which is challenging for a teacher, But Chris's relaxed style of teaching and varied selection of music meant that everyone benefitted from the experience

Chris is always really patient and everything is focused on enjoying the music. Sometimes when I find a part of the song difficult, he finds an easier way to play it so we can move on and finish the whole song. Then we come back and finish that bit when I am better.
